The course introduces students to the history of North American Architecture and its built environment from pre-colonial times to the present. To this end the country’s major architectural and urban achievements will be analyzed within the context of the cultural forces and theoretical premises that shaped them. Buffalo’s rich architectural and planning legacy forms an integral part of the coursework.
