As a continuation of the media course sequence, students will be exposed to parametric modeling through exercises aimed at developing an understanding of formal assemblies as systems of interrelated parts, and the use of data to organize part-to-whole relationships. The course will be focused on technical skill-building while providing a context for the recent history and current use of parametric modeling/design methods in architectural practice.

The course is structured into a series of exercises that will provide students with a foundation upon which to build further expertise in the above technical methods, as they pertain to architectural design and representation. The course will provide hands-on demonstrations in Rhino 5 and Grasshopper.
