As a special topics finale to the media course sequence, this course intends to expose students to Building Information Modeling (BIM) techniques as they pertain to design and practice. The current context of BIM- driven AEC workflows will be discussed in class, while hands-on demonstrations of Autodesk Revit will support a series of technical exercises that intend to introduce BIM as a 3D model-based process.
Although BIM is intended to be the main topic, the course may also cover more advanced parametric modeling techniques by request, using Grasshopper and selected add-ons that extend its functionality.
