This course examines the history of American architecture and urban planning from the late 19th century until the post-modern era. To this end the lectures will explore the impact technology, social issues, politics and European precedence had on shaping the American landscape. By the end of the semester students will be able to understand and appreciate the complex interplay between culture and architecture and planning.
