Much of our world is regulated by processes under our feet.  The building of soil, the transportation of resources and the slow movement of the lithosphere itself all constitute drastically important processes necessary for our survival.  However, these process occur below the skin of our environment and are often forgotten or unconsidered.

The Seminar will focus on these unseen yet important processes occurring beneath the surface as a way of illuminating the relevance of natural processes at different time and spatial scales.  It will cover the basics of GIS, Digital Terrain Modelling, Site Surveying and Assessment, and Urban Ecology.
