This course will focus on strategies of representing contemporary ecological systems and phenomena. We will explore visualization techniques and tools to reveal and synthesize complex social, political, and environmental relationships. Drawing, diagramming, mapping, and image-based production processes will be investigated not only as methods for recording, but also as means to proactively confront subjective and temporal conditions. With an emphasis on developing skills in visual logic, this course will focus on exploring techniques of representation, not only as descriptors but also as interrogators, generators, and speculators.
