This course provides foundation knowledge for planning, designing and managing urban infrastructure. The topics in course focus on role of planners in infrastructure planning, designing and managing major infrastructure systems, life-cycle method of analysis, environmental impact analysis and financing infrastructure development. No cities can exist without infrastructure. On the contrary infrastructure facilities have a significant impact on the growth and development of a city. Cities with high quality environments, facilitated by strong infrastructural facilities attract more businesses, and provide a higher quality of life to its residents.
